A paediatric naturopathic visit typically involves a comprehensive assessment of a child’s overall health, including their medical history, lifestyle, and environmental factors that may be impacting their health. Common paediatric concerns include skin ailments, digestive concerns and behavioural disturbances.

Dr. Takeshita is passionate about helping patients optimize their skin health. She prioritizes individualized treatment plans utilizing a variety of tools for those aiming to address skin-related ailments or optimize skin tone, texture, and appearance. She acknowledges the district impact that digestion and hormones have on skin and comprehensively explores pertinent contributing factors.
Common skin ailments Dr. Takeshita treats may include acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, alopecia, yeast and fungal infections.
Dr. Takeshita is licensed in medical microneedling, neuromodulator injectables (“Botox”) and dermal fillers.
Lyme Disease & Co-Infections
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected tick. Borreliosis can also be transmitted in-utero to a child via the blood-placental barrier if the mother is infected.
In addition to Lyme disease, ticks can also transmit other infections, known as tick-borne coinfections. These can include diseases such as Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and Powassan virus.
Symptoms of these infections can vary, but may include fever, headache, muscle aches, joint pain, fatigue, cognitive deficits, mood changes and neurological concerns (numbness, tingling, weakness, burning pain, tremors, unusual skin sensations).
PANDAS/PITAND
PANDAS (also known as Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal infection) and PITAND (or Paediatric Infection Triggered Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder) are paediatric autoimmune conditions that are triggered by infection. The onset of symptoms are typically sudden and significant.
Women’s Health
Dr. Takeshita's interest in women's health concerns include menstrual irregularity (heavy, painful, absent, abnormal cycle, PMS), PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), genitourinary infections (UTIs, interstitial cystitis, yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, HPV, STIs), fatigue, stress and burnout, metabolic health (diabetes, insulin resistance, weight loss resistance), endocrine concerns (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism).
Dr. Takeshita also performs clinical pap and breast exams.
Being a mother herself, Dr. Bri’s area of focus includes postpartum care for the mother and child.
